Farm shop

We also have a farm shop!

I need to badger Alison into coming up with some more suitable chit-chat to tell you all about it, but until then.... You're stuck with me - Lucky you!

Back in 2016 (i'm not sure where the time goes!) we converted one of our horse barns into a shop - This was an exercise in "DIY gone mad" and the result is an authentically rustic affair, replete with parochial charm!

Since then it's been sterlingly wo-manned by the dynamic duo of Alison and Alice.

While through the winter we tend to "baton down the hatches" as the list of work that needs doing on the farm is never-ending, and frankly it gets a bit demoralizing to just sit about in an empty shop, you're nevertheless always welcome to pop in year round!

We're never really closed

We're only ever closed for a given value of "closed" -  If the gate is shut, just toot your horn and somebody will appear!

While during the off-season, there might not be the full resplendent selection of fresh cakes and treats on offer -  Nevertheless, you'll find a range of local beers, spirits, jams, chutneys, and other Devonian bric-a-brac - Not to mention of course the real reason for making the pilgrimage.... the cider

Our ciders

We even stock a selection of other people's filter-washings to cater to the shockingly disloyal ..... What more could you possibly ask for!?!

(Ok, so I might be slightly biased when it comes to who's cider is nicest!)

As the weather improves, the farm-shop comes to life along with the scenery.

During the summer, we offer a mouth-watering selection of homemade cakes, cream teas and other delights (all made by Alison!); Along with fresh pies to take home from our good friends at Wessex Pantry, and ice-cream cones from Langage farm

Cakes and pies

..... I can tell you Alison's sausage roles are particularly awful and you definitely shouldn't try one while enjoying a glass of cider in the field-garden! 🙃

...Don't worry, i'll endure the hardship of being forced to eat them on your behalf!

Dogs (and other furry friends) are of course welcome, and after sampling the delights on offer you can take a stroll either through the handy adjacent woodland path, or if you're feeling bolder - set off for a full yomp around our organic orchards!

Speaking of the orchards - While there's a lot to be said for enjoying the bucolic peace and quiet - Alison's guided tours certainly aren't to be missed!

Exactly what they contain varies between the orchards and the ciderworks (weather permitting); However, within the space of an hour she'll impart a lifetimes worth of experience and enthusiasm about all things cider - From the history and tradition, to the craft involved in making artisanal cider.

Finally, last but certainly not least, throughout the year we run assorted events such as our annual Wassail and summer-sundowners - Follow us on facebook for details!
